A manager of an automobile agency ended his life by shooting himself in his head at his house in Shri Chand Colony of Mundian late on Wednesday, police said.

The body was sent to the civil hospital for postmortem examination by the Jamalpur police, who initiated investigation to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step.
The 33-year-old manager had attended a function in the daytime and returned home late on Wednesday, the police said. Around 11pm, he locked himself in his room and shot himself in his head with his licensed revolver.
After hearing the gunshot, his family members rushed to the room and took him to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
ASI Subhash Raj said no suicide note was found from the spot.
The police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. He is survived by wife and two children.

A 26-year-old man attempted to commit suicide by jumping off an elevated road on Thursday morning.
According to his family, the man was reeling under depression and it was his second bid to end life in the past four days.
He has fractured both his arms and currently undergoing treatment at the civil hospital.

The father said he was undergoing treatment for his condition and had also shown improvement.
ASI Somnath, who is investigating the case, said they will record the statement of the man to know the reasons behind his attempt to end life.
