Senior deputy mayor Rakesh Prashar and deputy mayor Prince Johar handed over the tablets to councillors at the MC Zone A office.

Civic officials said the remaining councillors would receive the devices in the coming days.

The tablets were procured after the proposal received approval from the MC General House as part of the civic body’s e-office initiative.

Once the project is fully implemented, meetings of the Finance and Contracts Committee and the General House will be conducted in a paperless manner.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at reducing paperwork and streamlining official processes.
