Police have arrested two men for on charges of raping, impregnating and repeatedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl. The case came to light when the victim complained of severe stomach pain. Growing suspicious, her mother examined her and, fearing a pregnancy, took her to a doctor, who confirmed that the minor was seven months pregnant.

According to the police complaint, the victim revealed that in December 2025, a distant relative who lived near their house had raped her. She further alleged that since January this year, another young man residing in the same labour quarter repeatedly sexually exploited her. Inspector Avneet Kaur, SHO at the division number 6 police station, stated that an FIR has been registered against both accused under Sections 64 (rape) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS, alongside Section 6 of the POCSO Act. Both suspects were arrested shortly after the case was reported.
