Police said that the body of the man, who is believed to be in his late 50s, was spotted by locals and some blood-stained stones were also found lying near it.

Preliminary probe suggests that he was murdered by hitting stones or bricks on the face and head, investigators said.

“A murder case was registered and the body has been kept at the mortuary of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital for 72 hours for identification,” a police officer said.

Man’s naked body found in sack in Yamunanagar

Ambala : An unidentified naked body of a man in his early 20s was found packed in a sack near Vishwakarma Mohalla of Yamunanagar on Monday.

Police said that the black-coloured sack was spotted on the bank of Western Jamuna Canal in the morning hours.

While the identity of the man remains unknown, there were multiple wounds found on his body.

Investigating officer said that the body has been kept at the mortuary of Mukund Lal Civil Hospital and Trauma Centre for 72 hours for identification and further action will be taken accordingly.

Deputy superintendent of police (Headquarters) Kanwaljeet Singh said, “It seems that he was slit using a sharp weapon and thrown here in a sack.”
