Confusion over police jurisdiction has cast uncertainty over the investigation into a purported robbery bid on an NRI woman in Dehlon, even as two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

While Dehlon police claimed to have apprehended two men, Doraha SHO Akash Dutt reitsaid the location of the incident does not fall under their limits and they received no formal communication regarding the case.
The incident came to light after a purported video of the incident surfaced on social media showing the NRI woman stepping out of her car and confronting the robbers by brandishing a sword. The suspects had allegedly attempted to stop her vehicle late on Friday night by throwing an egg on the windshield. Dehlon police identified the arrested men as Mohammad Sameer of Lohara village and Abhishek of Guru Nanak Nagar. Eight mobile phones and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession.
SHO Avneet Kaur said the duo had been detained but it was yet to be ascertained whether they were involved in the alleged robbery bid.
