If the protesters do not disperse, then water cannons are used, followed by lathi charges and tear gas. If the situation becomes more sensitive, only then does the senior-most officer order firing. Last Monday, you used pellet guns on unarmed students, and a video from Bihar is going viral showing a constable chasing protestors with an AK-47 - this is inhuman," Tewari said.

Asking for PM to apologise to the students, he said, "I've said it before: this government is dishonest. Real reform is beyond their capability. They'll backtrack on their words and use every trick in the book to suppress students' voices.”

I really want to ask the government what has happened to the Radhakrishnan committee, which was appointed clearly two years before. That committee submitted a report with 184 pages. The government has been sitting on it... This is how they want to sidestep the issue and not address the real concern of the students. I feel that it's not the committees but a lack of willpower and a transparent system that is lacking in our country," ANI quoted Brittas as saying.
