Panchkula Panchkula detective staff arrested a 36-year-old for allegedly possessing an illegal country-made pistol and a live cartridge near the HMT gate in Pinjore. The accused has been identified as Sahil Sharma, a resident of Naggal village in Chandimandir.

Acting on a tip-off received on July 11 that the accused was waiting for someone near the HMT gate with an illegal firearm, the police team conducted a raid and apprehended the suspect. During the search, police found a country-made pistol and a live 7.65 mm cartridge from his possession. As the accused failed to produce any valid licence, the weapon and ammunition were seized, sealed and taken into possession following the prescribed legal procedure.
A case has been registered at Pinjore police station under Section 25(1-B)(a) of the Arms Act and further investigation is underway.
