The closure has been scheduled by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) to facilitate the construction of the remaining foundation for the air-concourse roof structure, a key feature of the ongoing world-class station redevelopment project.

During this period, all trains typically arriving at or departing from platform 1 will be diverted to other platforms, and their operations may be subject to regulation or minor schedule changes.

Notably, the Vande Bharat Express (20977-20978) will be shifted to platform number 6 for the duration of the closure and will continue to operate from there in the future as well.

In total, the arrival/departure platforms for 32 trains have been changed, with services shifted from platform 1 to platforms 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The affected trains include six Shatabdi Express services and two Vande Bharat trains.
