A 55-year-old woman from Gopal Nagar in the Tibba area was robbed of her gold earrings on Saturday when two snatchers targeted her right outside her house.

According to the complaint, Surinder Kaur was standing at her doorstep when a man suddenly came from behind and yanked off the earrings she was wearing. His accomplice was waiting nearby on a motorcycle, and the duo sped away within seconds.
Kaur said she raised the alarm, but the accused had already fled. “It is frightening that one is not safe even outside their own home,” she said. “We have never seen such incidents in our lane. I am scared to step out now.”
Tibba SHO, sub-inspector Amarjeet Singh, said the woman’s statement has been recorded and an FIR is being registered. CCTV footage from the area shows the bike used by the accused, but the visuals are not clear. Police are scanning more cameras to identify and track down the snatchers.
