Terror associate held in Pulwama

Security forces arrested Umar Malik, a terrorist associate in Pulwama, seizing arms and explosives, including pistols and grenades.

Security forces on Saturday arrested a terrorist associate along with arms and explosives in Pulwama, said officials.

Arms and explosives were also recovered from the accused. (File)

The arrested, Umar Malik, is resident of Kachipor area of the south Kashmir district, they added.

“During the operation at Qasbayar (CB Nath Road), one terrorist associate identified as Mohd Umar Malik of Kachipora was apprehended by the joint team. Upon his search, incriminating material in the form of arms and explosives was recovered from his possession, including 1 star pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 2 live rounds and 2 hand grenades,” police spokesman said, adding that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Rajpora police station and investigation has been initiated.
