Unpaid dues: Connections of 8 telecommunication companies in Panchkula

This year, from mobile license fee, a total of ₹6.48 crores has been recovered. Meanwhile, Telesonic and BSNL have also been asked to pay their respective pending dues.

The companies namely-- Astro Broadband, One fiber Internet, focal cell, connect broadband, pace connect, speedo go fiber, fastway, and airtel are yet to pay their dues. Apart from these, Reliance, Jio and Airtel owe ₹15 crore to the corporation.

This year, from mobile license fee, a total of ₹6.48 crores has been recovered. Meanwhile, Telesonic and BSNL have also been asked to pay their respective pending dues.

In the city, there are 328 mobile towers, of which only 194 have made payments amounting to ₹6.80 crores. The companies who haven’t paid mobile tower bill includes BSNL, Indus and ATS.

By December 2022, ₹5 crore mobile license fee and ₹2 crore fee for mobile tower is expected to be recovered, informed the mayor. He also directed to seal 50 government and private properties of those who have not paid property tax. A target of ₹25 crores property tax was to be recovered but only ₹6.19 crores were recovered, for which, the mayor ordered to seal the defaulters’ buidlings and recover ₹50 crore property tax by December 31.
