Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar arrived in Abohar on Sunday to condole the death of his uncle Raj Singh Bhadoo, who is also BJP leader Vijay Laxmi Bhadoo’s husband.

He was welcomed by Punjab cabinet minister Baljeet Kaur, commissioner, Ferozepur division, DS Mangat, and Fazilka deputy commissioner Senu Duggal when he reached Abohar.

Vijay Laxmi is a BJP leader from Abohar who had contested unsuccessfully against then Congress leader Sunil Jakhar in 2012. The Vice-President spent an hour with the bereaved family. Raj passed away on December 2 and his “bhog” ceremony will be held on Monday.
