Zirakpur: Rape case registered after 15-yr-old girl delivers baby
The accused is a native of Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, the accused is also a minor but cops said it will be clear only after his arrest. According to the police, both the victim and the accused resided in a slum area in Zirakpur and the families knew each other.
A youth has been booked for rape after a 15-year-old girl delivered a baby at a private hospital in Zirakpur on Wednesday.
The accused is a native of Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, the accused is also a minor but cops said it will be clear only after his arrest. According to the police, both the victim and the accused resided in a slum area in Zirakpur and the families knew each other.
After complaining of acute pain on Tuesday late evening, her family took her to the private hospital where they got to know about her pregnancy.
As per the statement of the victim, the accused had raped her at her home when her parents, who work as labourers, were away.
He allegedly threatened her against revealing the incident to anyone.
The accused has been booked under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code and under Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) at Zirakpur police station.
