Four minor boys, below the age of 14, held for gangrape of 6-year-old girl

Four boys, aged between 10 and 14, were on Sunday detained for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in city’s Pimpri area in Pune, police said.

The boys from Anna Saheb Magar slum allegedly picked up a six-year-old girl, who was playing in the vicinity, and took her to a secluded area and raped in turns, officials from Pimpri police station said.

“The incident came to light after the girl, who was traumatised, narrated her ordeal to her mother and later police were informed,” they said.

The incident had taken place on Saturday.

A case of rape (section 376) and unnatural offences (section 377) has been registered under the Indian Penal Code, and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, officials said, adding all the four boys have been detained.
