Gurugram:The Haryana health department is planning to set up radiology diagnostics centres at civil hospitals in five districts, including Gurugram and Faridabad, officials said on Friday.

The department has extended the deadline for submitting bids to August 26 to encourage wider participation and competition among bidders for running the centres on a public-private partnership (PPP) model, added officials.
In March, the Haryana Medical Services Corporation floated a ₹46 crore tender to develop CT scan facilities at civil hospitals in Gurugram, Faridabad, Panchkula, Bhiwani and Sonepat. Separate MRI services will also be provided at proposed centres in Panchkula, Bhiwani and Faridabad.
Each facility will have a 64-detector-row multislice CT scanner and the MRI centres will have a 1.5-tesla machine. Officials said an estimated ₹5 crore and ₹7 crore will be spent on developing, operating and maintaining each CT scan and MRI facility, respectively.
“Rent-free premises measuring 1,500 to 2,000 sq. feet will be allotted at civil hospitals for installing CT and MRI machines. Bidders quoting the highest discount and lowest premium on the prescribed rates will be encouraged to reduce financial burden on patients,” a senior health department official said.
The concessionaire will provide round-the-clock services for 10 years to patients, including patients availing of different government schemes and patients paying under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates. The plan aims to increase diagnostic capacity at civil hospitals in Gurugram, Faridabad and Panchkula, where similar facilities already exist, while introducing new services in Bhiwani and Sonepat, officials added.
