Two suspects were arrested from Nawada in Bihar on Friday for allegedly murdering their friend in Sector 13 by slitting his throat over suspicion that he had hacked a mobile phone, police said on Saturday.

The duo, both tenants in Rajiv Nagar (east), Sector 13, were taken on three-day police remand after being produced before a court on Saturday, officers added. The victim, Sujeet Kumar Kharwar, 26, of Hariharpur in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, also lived in Rajiv Nagar (east) and worked as a security guard, police said.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said one suspect’s phone had been hacked and he could not access his email. “They suspected it was Kharwar who had done it,” he said.
“The duo called him to their room for a party on the night of August 12. The trio drank liquor. Both suspects tried to get the password from the drunk victim to access the hacked phone. A dispute took place and the duo murdered him by slitting his throat with a kitchen knife and fled to Bihar by train from Delhi,” he said. The knife was recovered from the spot.
The murder came to light on August 13 when the house owner found the body and alerted police. A case was registered at Sector 14 police station the same day.
