This comes a day after the West Bengal child rights panel wrote to the national child rights panel saying that its proposed visit to the state over the murder of the girl in Kolkata's Tiljala was ‘not really necessary’.

"We at WBCPCR have been informed that you are thinking of a visit to Kolkata and Malda regarding the Tiljala child murder case and sexual abuse of a school girl in Malda respectively," PTI quoted the letter by WBCPCR chief Sudeshna Roy's letter.

She added that the state child rights panel had taken cognizance in both the cases and had recived the first action taken report from Malda and personally spoken to the family of the girl.

The WBCPCR has personally spoken to the family of the victim in the Tiljala area, Roy had said.

Meanwhile, Kanoongo also narrated the entire incident while speaking to ANI.

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly killed by one of her neighbours on the advice of a ‘tantric’ in Tiljala. The accused, hailing from Bihar's Samastipur, had confessed to the killing, has been remanded to police custody till April 9, police told PTI.
