UP teen beaten, abused, paraded naked for entering house by four men; viral video leads to arrest

On the night of the incident, he allegedly entered the house of the accused. Instead of informing the police, the accused took the law into their own hands.

A group of men allegedly beat a minor, abused him and paraded him naked through a street instead of informing the police after he entered the house of one of them. A video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting Chowk police to arrest four men, police said on Wednesday.

Chowk SHO Nagesh Upadhyay told HT that the teenager, identified as a resident of Shravasti, worked at a shop owned by one of the accused. On the night of the incident about 3-4 days ago, he allegedly entered the house of another accused.

“Instead of informing the police, the accused took the law into their own hands,” Upadhyay said.

The purported video, which came to police notice through social media on Tuesday, shows the teenager being assaulted inside a room before being taken onto the street naked. The men are also seen abusing him and threatening to kill him.

Rizwan, 30, Shaban, 42, Jaan Mohammad and Irshad were arrested near Irfania Madrasa in Chaubdari Mohalla around 9.15pm on Tuesday, police said, adding that they were subsequently produced before a court.

According to officials, a case was registered at Chowk police station under sections of the BNS relating to rioting, wrongful confinement, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, assault and other offences.

“A manhunt has been launched for Etisham, while further probe is underway,” the SHO said.

Police said they were also investigating why the teenager entered the house and the individual roles of those involved.
