Asserting that the Uttar Pradesh Global Investor Summit-2023 (UPGIS-23) will open new doors for youngsters in the state by bringing in massive investment for various sectors, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said they will no longer have to seek employment on foreign shores or in other states. The summit is scheduled for February 10-12 in Lucknow.
Addressing the 11th convocation of GLA University in Mathura on Monday, he instructed educational institutions to make students aware of the central and state government’s schemes for better prospects.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the National Education Policy (NEP) had been formulated keeping in mind the future of the youngsters, he added.
Massive investment, which was on the anvil in 25 sectors of the state, will create lakhs of jobs for the youngsters, Yogi Adityanath said and urged educational institutions to prepare their students for this.
The chief minister called upon educational institutions to conduct research on activities related to social, economic and traditions of their geographical areas to speed up development there.
“Educational institutions should give information about the schemes of the central government and the state government in their syllabus,” he said, adding that schemes related to youngsters and students should be part of the curriculum.
“If a student wants to set up a start-up, then information about PM Mudra Yojana and Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana should be available at the level of educational institutions itself,” he said and informed the students about schemes like PM Internship, CM Internship and Abhyudaya.
“We need to pay attention to the quality and packaging of our products. Had the previous governments paid attention to technical education in UP, today, the state would have been a hub of technical skills,” said the chief minister, who told the degree recipients that the state has the largest base of MSMEs (micro small and medium enterprises).
“Today, goods worth ₹1.60 lakh crore are being exported every year from UP. There is huge potential for start-ups in this field. For this, educational institutions will have to come forward and provide training. Educational institutions should sign MoUs with each other to exchange knowledge,” Yogi said.
During the convocation, 47 students were awarded PhDs, 561 Masters and 2085 Bachelor’s degrees. Uttar Pradesh ministers Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan and Yogendra Upadhyay were among those present on the occasion.

Referring to Ram Manohar Lohia, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the eminent socialist thinker considered Lord Krishna, Ram and Shiva as the three basic pillars of the public life of India.
Krishna connected India from East to West, Ram from North to South and the cultural and geographical boundary of this country was determined by the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva across the country, the chief minister said at the convocation of GLA University in Mathura.
