MUMBAI: Come April 3, four crucial transportation projects in the city will be unveiled: Mumbai Metro 2B (Mandale-Diamond Garden), Mumbai Metro 9 (Dahisar East-Kashigaon), the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel and the pod taxi at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). CM Devendra Fadnavis, along with his deputy CMs, will partially inaugurate the two metro lines, lay the foundation stone for the pod taxi and launch the tunnel-boring machine for the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel. MMRDA is responsible for all these projects.

While only some stations on Metro 2 and Metro 9 will be made operational, the latter will for the first time connect regions outside of Greater Mumbai limits. The 8.8-km pod taxi route at BKC, which is expected to take three years to be fully operational, will help an estimated 600,000 commuters to travel to BKC and will connect the Bandra and Kurla suburban stations, the BKC metro station and the upcoming bullet train station.
