MMRDA to boost Metro travel with bicycles, bus connectivity

The winning start-ups, which include a bike-sharing mobile application, a bus aggregator and a face-recognition system, will be implemented on a pilot basis at select stations on the Metro-1 line (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) in a month. The pilot will be tested for three months.

‘What was our fault?’: Citizens, arrested for protesting tree felling in Aarey Colony, get bail

The 29 citizens, who were first detained and then arrested for protesting against hacking of trees at Mumbai’s Aarey Colony, were given bail by a sessions court on Sunday.

Bombay high court refuses to stay tree cutting at Aarey Colony in Mumbai

A division bench of justices SC Dharmadhikari and AK Menon rejected the plea filed by activist Zoru Bhathena and non-governmental organisation Vanshakti on Saturday morning, seeking an urgent, temporary restraining order to keep MMRC from continuing with the tree cutting.

Rs 3,500-crore project for last-mile connectivity on Mumbai’s Metro lines get MMRDA nod

A MMRDA meeting, which was chaired by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, also gave approval to lease out a 12,486-square-metre plot to Japanese company Goisu Reality Pvt Ltd for 80 years at Rs 2,238 crore.
