The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is planning to initiate major infrastructure upgrades to end persistent water logging in Ecotech 3 industrial sector, such as building RCC (reinforced cement concrete) drains and install three pumps as a backup mechanism, officials said on Thursday.

The decision was taken following a recent meeting between industrial business association representatives and Greater Noida authority officials.

“Industrialists in Ecotech 3 have been facing water logging issues for years, affecting business and daily movement. We appreciate the authority’s efforts to address this with RCC drain and pump installations. However, we urge for the development of Ecotech 3 as a model industrial sector with upgraded infrastructure, better waste management, and improved road safety measures,” said association president Amit Upadhyay.

“A committee will be formed to assess the feasibility of developing Ecotech 3 as a model industrial sector. Additionally, directives have been issued to improve sanitation, install speed breakers, and enhance road markings. The demands for additional dustbins and better waste management will also be met soon,” said Saumya Srivastava, additional chief executive officer of GNIDA.

The authority is holding regular discussions with business groups to streamline industrial operations in the city, officials added.
