The Gujarat Legislative Assembly in Gandhinagar was adjourned for an hour after it received a bomb threat mail on Wednesday morning which the police later called it as a hoax.

The entire complex was evacuated and necessary security checks were made.
The email claimed a bomb had been planted in the assembly complex, following which all staff and MLAs were asked to vacate the premises, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Piyush Vanda was quoted to as saying by news agency PTI.

All Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and ministers present were promptly shifted to safer locations as a precautionary measure, and the building was evacuated and thoroughly searched.
The Budget Session, which began on February 16, is scheduled to run for 23 days with a total of 26 sittings, concluding on March 25. On Tuesday, the Work Advisory Committee had finalised the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill on the last day of the session.
