New Delhi: In a road rage incident, a 58-year-old woman and her son were attacked with knives allegedly by two people after their car hit a two-wheeler in west Delhi’s Janakpuri area on Wednesday, a police officer said on Friday, adding that one suspect is detained and a hunt for the other is underway.

Police said around 9 pm on Wednesday, the mother-son duo were returning home when their car accidentally hit a two-wheeler. “The collision was minor with no injuries. When the mother and son stepped out to help the men, they hurled abuses and pulled out knives, injuring their hands,” the officer said.
“One of the accused managed to flee. The other accused, trying to flee, was intercepted by a police constable present near the spot and the locals,” the officer said.
According to police, the accused were found riding the two-wheeler on the wrong side of the road.
The officer said the suspect has been involved in a few past criminal cases, and police are trying to ascertain his age.
The woman works as a hairstylist in Vasant Kunj while her son owns a shop in Sadar Bazar. The family lives in Janakpuri C block.
