Y20 India Summit: Experts to discuss mental stress in youths during 2-day KGMU event

LUCKNOW City-based King George’s Medical University (KGMU) campus will hold the Y20 India Summit -- a part of the G20 summit -- on March 23 and 24. During the summit, aimed at exemplifying India’s youth-centric efforts, experts will discuss ways to guide the youth on managing mental stress due to the pressure of succeeding in their careers.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, KGMU vice-chancellor Lt Gen (Dr) Bipin Puri and Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary of sports and youth welfare department, confirmed that the event will be held under Y-20. “Prior to the mega event on March 24, a pre-event will be conducted on March 23. Sports personalities will interact with students from different districts of the state,” said the KGMU V-C.

As part of the event, the colleges affiliated with KGMU will conduct debates and seminars on youth-related topics. On Friday, experts will speak on mental health, yoga, a career in sports. Other contests like slogan writing, walkathon, and dance and poster competition will also be held during the event.

The Y20 events are to connect youth with G20. There are two topics mental health and sports and future of work. Two students from each district will be called for programme and felicitated. One event is at KGMU and another workshop at IIT Kanpur, said Navneet Sehgal.
