'Amazing tale of sacrifice': BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Patna girl who scored 99.4%

The young girl, Sreeja, was abandoned by her father after her mother died. She was then moved to her maternal grandparents' house.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi on Monday wrote a message of appreciation for a Patna girl who recently made headlines for scoring 99.4% in Class 10 exams.

The young girl, Sreeja, was abandoned by her father after her mother died. She was then moved to her maternal grandparents' house. "Amazing tale of sacrifice and dedication!" Gandhi tweeted, "I can be of any use to you, I will be lucky." He also shared an interview video clip, which is now going viral on social media, with other people lauding Sreeja.

The brilliant student has already enrolled for science as her major in Class 11; Sreeja aspires to become an electrical engineer, The Times of India said.

Sreeja got full marks in Science and Sanskrit and 99 in Maths, Social Science and English.

Sreeja said her hobbies included reading and writing poetry in her free time.

People on social media also praised the girl and called her an inspiration. "Best wishes to the girl for this success. Patience and constant hard work are the seeds of success, you have proved this, proud of you," wrote one user in response to Gandhi's tweet.
