965 seats vacant in Ayush courses

Of 9,453 seats available under the BAMS programme, 64 seats are vacant in government colleges and 504 in private institutions

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has recorded 965 vacant seats across colleges in Maharashtra following the fourth round of counselling for undergraduate Ayush courses. The first selection list was announced on December 4 and students will be required to complete the admission process by December 7 for Ayurveda (BAMS), Homoeopathy (BHMS) and Unani Medicine (BUMS) courses. Of 9,453 seats available under the BAMS programme, 64 seats are vacant in government colleges and 504 in private institutions. Maharashtra has 55 homoeopathy colleges, one government and 54 private with 3,712 seats. Of these, 390 remain vacant even after the fourth round.

Compared to the other two courses, the Unani programme saw the lowest vacancy count. Of 350 seats in seven colleges, only seven seats remain unoccupied.

Meanwhile, the CET Cell has announced that a second mop-up merit list will be released on December 8 with admission deadline of December 9 and 10.
