Pune: A 28-year-old man allegedly attacked a 35-year-old with a stone after the latter refused to give him money to buy liquor at Gultekdi on Wednesday. The Swargate police have registered a case of attempt to murder and arrested the accused.
The accused has been identified as Prem Sanjay Kale, 28, a resident of Dias Plot, Gultekdi, while the injured man is Raju Shivlingappa Ikalki, 35, a resident of Minatai Thackeray Vasahat, Gultekdi.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 7.30 am on August 12 at Dias Plot, Gultekdi. Kale allegedly asked Ikalki for money to buy liquor. When Ikalki refused, Kale allegedly became angry and attacked him with a stone.
Police said Kale allegedly hit Ikalki on his head and face, causing injuries. He was subsequently taken for medical treatment.
The complaint was lodged by Laxmibai Shivalingappa Ikalki, 57, a resident of Minatai Thackeray Vasahat, at the Swargate police station.
Based on the complaint, the Swargate police registered a case against Kale under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for attempted murder.
