The meeting between the irrigation department and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), to review the water shortage in the city, which was scheduled on Tuesday has been deferred after civic chief Vikram Kumar had to visit Mumbai for another meeting.
The meeting was to be held to discuss water cuts in the city due to less rainfall.
“The new meeting date is yet to be decided. No immediate water cuts have been planned for now. We are monitoring the situation closely,” said Aniruddha Pawaskar, head of PMC water department.
The rainfall in Pune is unsatisfactory, and water storage in all four dams – Khadakwasla, Warasgaon, Temghar and Panshet is 2.76 TMC.
The city requires 1,685 MLD water every day, and many areas are experiencing water scarcity.
