According to Pune police commissioner Amitabh Gupta, while investigating the health department paper leak case, the police received information regarding malpractices related to MHADA paper and teams raided places across the state and arrested accused involved in the paper leak case.

The state government had appointed GA Software Technology Private Limited to select recruits for 565 posts (Group A to Group D) from December 12 to December 20, 2021. The state housing department on March 3 blacklisted the said company selected to conduct exams for recruitment in MHADA. The state government cancelled the exam following arrests in December. Preliminary police investigations revealed they had targeted to earn between 10 lakh and 12 lakh per candidate.
