MIT-WPU to host national scientists conference from July 17

Pune: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) will host the third National Scientists Round Table Conference (NSRTC 2026) from July 17 to 19, bringing together scientists, researchers, academicians and students from across the country to discuss emerging advances in science and technology

Pune: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) will host the third National Scientists Round Table Conference (NSRTC 2026) from July 17 to 19, bringing together scientists, researchers, academicians and students from across the country to discuss emerging advances in science and technology.

Held under the guidance of former CSIR director general Padma Vibhushan Raghunath A. Mashelkar, the conference aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and support the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.

The three-day event will feature sessions on artificial intelligence, materials and sustainability, emerging device technologies, health sciences, and Nobel Prize-winning research, as well as poster presentations, research exhibitions, and scholar-scientist interactions.

The conference will also see the presentation of the NSRTC Awards. The Vigyan Maharshi Award 2026, carrying a cash prize of 5 lakh, will be conferred on Padma Vibhushan Prof. M. M. Sharma, former director of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, for his contributions to chemical reaction engineering.

The inaugural DeepTech Young Entrepreneur Awards, each carrying 1 lakh, will be presented to Narayana Rao Sripada, co-founder of Swaasa, for developing an AI-based respiratory disease screening solution.
