The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will temporarily divert several bus services across the city on August 1 due to the birth anniversary celebrations of Marathi litterateur and social reformer “Lokshahir” Annabhau Sathe.

As a large gathering is expected near the Annabhau Sathe statue at Sarasbaug Chowk, traffic restrictions are likely to be imposed in the area prompting PMPML to revise the operation of buses passing through the city centre.
According to the transport utility, buses operating on major routes connecting Swargate, Deccan Gymkhana, Shivajinagar, Pune Railway Station, Katraj, Hadapsar, Kondhwa, Bibvewadi, Warje, Kothrud, Dhayari, Sinhagad Road, Baner, Aundh, Nigdi, Bhosari, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Bhekrai Nagar, Wagholi and other parts of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be diverted if roads near Jedhe Chowk and Sarasbaug are closed, and buses will be rerouted via Laxmi Narayan Talkies and Mitra Mandal Chowk before rejoining their regular routes.
PMPML said that if access to the Natraj Bus Stand at Swargate is blocked, buses scheduled to originate from the terminal will instead depart from the Khandoba Temple near the Parvati foothills until traffic movement resumes.
