Pune: In a step aimed at streamlining the admission process, the State Common Entrance Test Cell on Monday announced a unified Common Entrance Test (CET) for multiple undergraduate professional courses, effective from academic year 2026-27.

According to the notification issued by the cell, a single entrance examination will be conducted for admissions to Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), and Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) programmes.
“The decision was taken because all these courses share common eligibility criteria, making a single entrance test not only practical but also beneficial for students. By merging the exams, the authorities aim to reduce the burden on candidates,” said officials.
The duration of the new combined CET has been fixed at 120 minutes (2 hours). The detailed syllabus for the exam will be published on the official website of the state CET cell in due course.
