Tanker hits two cars, tempo at Navale Brigde; no casualty

In the fifth consecutive accident on Navale Bridge area on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway in as many days, a speeding tanker rammed into two cars and a 17-seater tempo traveller on Saturday afternoon.
According to the traffic police, no casualty was reported.
Sinhgad Road police station incharge Shailesh Sankhe said that the accident took place near the selfie point on the bridge area on the lane going towards Mumbai at 1 pm. Three vehicles were damaged in the incident.
The police arrested the tanker driver who was identified as Mohammad Akram Mohammad Sagir, a native of Uttar Pradesh, under relevant sections of rash and negligent driving of IPC and sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Later, the officials of traffic police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) inspected the accident spot. According to the preliminary report filed by the officials, the driver was speeding the vehicle at 90 kms per hour on the slope section and could not control it before hitting vehicles, including a BMW car.
