South Africa beat Australia in the one-off T20 match at Metricon Stadium in Gold Coast on Saturday. The match was reduced to 10 overs a side because of rain and batting first South Africa slammed 108 in the allotted overs. captain Faf du Plessis hit 27 and was the top scorer. In reply Australia’s chase never got going and they were reduced to 43/5 at just past the half way mark. Glenn Maxwell hit 38 to give hosts a glimmer of hope but that was too little and too late. Lungi Ngidi, Chris Morris and Andile Phehlukwayo picked up two wickets each for the Proteas.
