Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has so far had very little to cheer in the ongoing Test against Australia in Karachi. Riding on Usman Khawaja's marathon knock of 160 off 369 balls, Australia piled a mammoth 505/8 at stumps on Day 2. However, the ace Pakistan batter did have a moment to celebrate as he picked a rare Test wicket.

Azam denied wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey his maiden Test ton after cleaning him up on 93, which was also Australia's 8th and final wicket of the day.

The incident took place towards the closing stage of the play as Carey attempted to sweep a flighted delivery coming straight at the stumps. The batter did make a contact but it was an edge, following which the ball went and hit the stumps.

Carey's effort helped the visitors gain a formidable position in the contest, which also featured a 98-run partnership with Mitchell Starc.

Meanwhile, Carey was Azam's second Test wicket. The star batter, who rarely is required to roll his arms, had dismissed Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan in Mirpur in December 2021 to pick his maiden scalp in Test.
