FOUR! Nicely done! On a length around off, Matthew Spoors brings out the reverse sweep and gets enough of a top edge to get it over short third and the ball rolls away into the fence.

Risky running but they do get the second run as well. On middle, Matthew Spoors gets inside the line and sweeps it down to fine leg and turns back for the second run. The throw if fired in from the deep, flat and right at the stumps but Alex Carey looks to collect it and had he left it, it would have been a direct hit and a run out as well.

Over the wicket now, full and quick outside off, Matthew Spoors gets past off stump to play the lap but misses and gets hit on the pads.

OUT! BOWLED'EM! Skipper Matthew Short keeps everyone in the game for now. Bowled from around the stumps, quick and flat on middle and off. Nick Hobson backs away to cut but the ball skids on and turns away to beat the bat and knock over the top of off stump. Hobson departs after a cameo and Scorchers are now 5 down.

Flatter one, angled into the legs, worked away to mid-wicket for a single.

JUST IN! On a length and angled into the pads, Cooper Connolly sweeps it away in front of square leg and looks for two right away. The fielder from deep square leg attacks it well and throws it at the keeper's end. Alex Carey whips off the bails but the replays show that the perfect dive from Connolly saved him.

Good fielding in the deep! Full and straight, Nick Hobson stays put again and clubs it straight down the ground. Matthew Short from mid off chases it down and flicks the ball in as Ollie Pope runs with him to pick up the pieces and keeps it down to two. 31 runs off the Surge then.

No run there either! Pitched up outside off, Hobson stays leg side of the ball and firms it straight to mid off.

SIX! Clean as from Nick Hobson! Good length, angled across off, Hobson holds his ground and swing baseball-style, flat and hard over the bowler's head and it travels over the ropes. The Strikers now have just 16 runs to play with if they want to get into that 4th place.

He tosses up, outside off, from over the wicket, and invites the batter to play a drive. Aaron Hardie comes forward to defend it with the full face of the bat and the ball skids it through the surface and zips past the outside edge. The batter loses his control and drags his leg outside the line where the keeper Alex Carey collects the ball behind the wicket and dislodges the bails in the meantime. Lovely change-up from Jordan Buckingham. Slower one, pitched up a bit and around off, Fanning looks to drive at it but is undone by the lack of pace.

Goes full and wide now, Fanning hangs back and squeezes it away straight to short third.

FOUR! Aaron Hardie is off the mark in style. Banged in a bit short around off, Hardie gets inside the line and smashes the pull wide of square leg for a boundary.

OUT! CAUGHT! Uppish and taken and Finn Allen is clearly frustrated with himself. Good length on middle, shaped back in by Brendan Doggett. Allen looks to flick off the front foot but doesn't go through with the shot and lobs it in front of mid-wicket where Liam Scott puts in a well-timed dive to pouch it safely.

WIDE! Goes for the sharp bumper but gets it too short and just down the leg side.

FOUR! Just enough height on that one! Hard length at the stumps, Allen steps out and brooms it away flat and over the leaping fielder at mid on for a boundary.

FOUR! Stellar timing and 21 runs come off the over. Full and straight, Fanning walks inside the line and clips it away wide of mid-wicket for another boundary.

Finn Allen misses out on this occasion. A bit short and a bit wide, Allen slashes at it and misses.

Hits the deck hard and pushes it wide of the off stump line, Finn Allen goes chasing after it and misses.
