On Thursday night, former Team India captain Virat Kohli shared a picture with another former skipper MS Dhoni on his official social media profiles. Kohli paid a rich tribute to Dhoni and even though it caught the social media by surprise due to the sudden timing of the post, the fans eventually showered love on the star duo. Kohli returns to action after a three-week hiatus in the Asia Cup 2022, where India begin their campaign against Pakistan on August 28.

Following Kohli's heartwarming post for Dhoni, many fans recalled some of their best memories of the Indian duo and Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings also shared a picture of the two with an emotional caption.

{{/usCountry}}Kohli had remained absent from India's tour of the West Indies and Zimbabwe, as he was rested amid a host of poor outings with the bat. Since April, Kohli has only scored one 50+ score in 22 innings across the IPL and international formats.
Earlier, India began their practice in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, and Kohli famously met Pakistan captain Babar Azam ahead of the side's first net session. Babar had come in support of Kohli amid the India batter's rough patch with the bat last month.
On Thursday, a number of India stars including Kohli also met Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi, who has been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a knee injury. Afridi had faced a knee injury during the first Test of the series against Sri Lanka last month and has since remained away from action. The Pakistan speedster, however, remains with the squad to remain in close contact with the team's physio.
