India vs Australia 3rd Test Day 2 Highlights: Jasprit Bumrah was the lone warrior for India as the visitors toiled hard on Day 2 of the Gabba Test. The day started off well for India with Jasprit Bumrah removing the Australian openers Usman Khawaja (21) and Nathan McSweeney (9) cheaply. Nitish Kumar Reddy also stepped up with the ball as he ended Marnus Labuschagne's 55-ball stay at the crease. With the score reading 75/3, India looked to bundle out Australia cheaply but once again, it was Travis Head who piled the misery on India.

India once again went chasing the leather as Travis Head hammered the likes of Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja. Steve Smith found full support in Steve Smith and the duo stitched together a partnership of 241 runs for the fourth wicket.

Steve Smith ended his century drought and announced his return to form. Travis Head registered his 9th Test ton and back-to-back centuries against India. Jasprit Bumrah once again stepped up with the new ball and he dismissed Smith (101) and Head (152), taking yet another five-wicket haul. Such is the brilliance of Bumrah that he is currently the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 17 wickets.

With Bumrah dismissing Smith, Mitchell Marsh (5), and Head in quick succession, India did claw their way back into the game. However, the visitors once again let the game drift away as Alex Carey and Pat Cummins put together another 50-run stand.

Cumming might have gone back to the hut after 22 but Alex Carey ensured that Australia go past the 400-run mark and gain full control of the match. There is rain predicted on the remaining days of the Test and the onus lies firmly with Australia to take the game forward.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy stands level at 1-1 and as of now, Australia look favourites to gain the lead in the series. Can India step up with the bat tomorrow? Only time will tell.
