India vs Sri Lanka: The Shikhar-Dhawan led Indian team will face off against Sri Lanka in the first ODI in Colombo on Sunday at the Premadasa Stadium. But will the weather play a spoilsport?
India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI: After a wait of five extra days, the stage is set for India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The series was originally scheduled to begin on July 13th but it was later postponed to July 18th, due to Covid-19 cases in the home team's camp.
Sri Lanka's batting coach Grant Flower and data analyst G T Niroshan had tested positive for Covid-19 upon their return from their tour to England, earlier this month. The cases had forced Sri Lanka Cricket to extend the quarantine period of the Sri Lanka players from the stipulated three days.

But the series is set to finally begin on Sunday. Though, the weather is expected to play a spoilsport.
A look at the weather forecast of Colombo on Accuweather showcases that it may be a cloudy day and there might be a spell of showers at around 3 PM IST. If the showers take place, it may force a delayed start to the match.
Shikhar Dhawan will be leading India in the series and all eyes will be on the India opening batsman to deliver the goods and lead from the front. India have six uncapped players in the squad, so decidingthe team combination for the first ODI will be a key factor.
