Highlights: Steve Smith played a gem of an innings to help Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets in Jaipur. The newly appointed captain remained unbeaten on 59 from 48 balls. Earlier, Ben Cutting smashed a six off Jofra Archer’s bowling in the last ball of the innings to take Mumbai Indians to 161/5 in 20 overs. This after Quinton de Kock’s innings of 65 runs from 47 balls put Mumbai on course for a decent total on a slow wicket in Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals had won the toss and elected to bowl first against Mumbai Indians. Before the toss, RR announced that Steve Smith will lead Rajasthan Royals for the rest of the tournament.

They issued a statement which read: “Ajinkya Rahane did a fantastic job in leading the team to the playoffs last year, however, the franchisee now thinks a fresh approach is needed to bring their 2019 campaign back on track.”
