IPL 2022 retention Highlights: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni as expected have been retained by their respective franchise, while Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Ben Stokes are some notable omissions. While it was obvious that David Warner won't be a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad's plans in future after the fallout, retaining two uncapped Indian players in the form of Abdul Samad and Umran Malik comes as a surprise. Mumbai Indians have shown faith on their big man Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav. In the next edition, a total of ten teams will take part in the league, with Lucknow and Ahmedabad being the two new franchises.
