KKR vs PBKS, IPL 2023 Highlights: Rinku, Russell lead Kolkata to win in last-ball thriller

KKR have not exactly set the world on fire with this start but good stuff from PBKS. They need to make sure that the batting side are limited to as few as possible in the powerplay to defend this total.

A whopping 21 runs off the last over and that partnership between Shahrukh and Brar ends unbeaten on 40 off 16. That could have won PBKS the match.

21 runs off the last over with one ball left! Rana goes slow but Brar isn't fooled, he hits it high and clears the ropes easily.

Shahrukh Khan has raced to 20 off 7. The first ball by Harshit Rana is full on off, Shahrukh clears the rope behind the bowler. Then the second ball is cut away behind point. The third takes a thick edge and goes over short third man.

Arora misses the yorker and Brar hits over mid-off. That is a good second last over for the Punjab Kings. Moreover, KKR can have only four on the boundary in the final over.

Suyash Sharma gets this one. Full and wide outside off, Curran's slog sweep takes a top edge and flies high into the night sky above the Gardens. Gurbaz and Suyash are both chasing it initially but the former asks him to stay away, gets his eye back on the ball and completes the catch. Brilliant stuff from the KKR wicketkeeper.

Fullish length ball outside off that keeps travelling in with the angle, Dhawan goes for a slog over midwicket, misses it entirely and the ball hits the off stump. That was the fifth ball of the 17th and it was after Chakravarthy got hit for a six by Dhawan off the first ball and then kept him pinned for the rest of the over.

Rana gets the big fish! Dhawan charges down the track and tries to hit it over long on but it comes off the toe-end and he holes out at long-on.

Jitesh trying too play the third ball of the 13th towards third man and he gets a thin edge to the wicketkeeper. That is wicket No.2 for Chakravarthy and the partnership ends at 53 off 42.

The 2nd and third balls of the 12th over bowled by Narine is sent to the boundary and that brings up PBKS's 100. This is turning into a great partnership.

Dhawan goes for a reverse sweep off the fifth ball of the 11th against Suyash and the ball is swatted over backward square leg.

Dhawan ends that over with a four behind square leg. He is on 25 off 17 while Jitesh is at the other end on one off as many. There needs to be a big partnership between these two for PBKS to put up a big total. A fourth consecutive 200-plus score though looks highly unlikely.

Livingstone reviews it, that DRS process seemed to take ages to complete and in the end, the third umpire holds up the on-field umpire's call. 

Well if their start was derailed by those two wickets, it has been brought back on track by Livingstone's hitting in that previous over. He is on 14 off 7, Dhawan is on 20 off 14 and Varun Chakravarthy will bowl the last over of the powerplay.

Russell sends the free hit delivery full outside off and Livingstones slices it through extra cover. Hat-trick of fours and Livingstone has raced to 13 in 6.

Andre Russell bowling the fourth over and Livingstone drives the third ball in the air over mid-off. Then Russell sends a knee high full toss in and Livingstone swats it away over midwicket. Moreover, that delivery is a no ball.

Rajapaksa goes to drive a full length delivery from Harshit Rana, gets an outside edge and it is a regulation catch for Gurbaz. PBKS's fast start has been undone somewhat in these last 2 overs.

Dhawan just about clears the short third man fielder off the third ball of the second. PBKS batters are all living a little dangerously at the moment.

Rana gets a wicket off the last ball of the 2nd and its because of some brilliant acrobatics from Rahmanullah Gurbaz behind the stumps. Rana digs in at length and it climbs on Prabhsimran, who comes down the track to hit it to the leg side. It takes an edge and Gurbaz first reaches up to parry it up in the air, then he chases it and catches the ball with a forward dive.

Full inswinger from Arora for the fifth ball and Prabhsimran whips it over midwicket. Then Arora goes back of a length and Prabhsimran cuts it behind point. Good start to the match for PBKS.
