Rajasthan Royals unveil new pink jersey for IPL 2018 match vs Chennai Super Kings
Rajasthan Royals (RR) will don a new pink-coloured jersey to raise Cancer awareness during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday.
Rajasthan Royals unveiled a new pink jersey which they will wear in the match against Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Friday, in order to raise Cancer awareness.
In a ‘Cancer Out’ function organized at the Sawai Mansingh Medical College, Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane, along with Heinrich Klassen, Mahipal Lomror and Krishnappa Gowtham, unveiled the new jersey.
Rajasthan Royals are part of a state wide ‘Cancer Out’ campaign to popularise cancer screening. The initiative was launched in association with Tata Trusts with the support of Government of Rajasthan, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association.

Speaking about the initiative, Rahane said, “What I feel as a sportsman, it is important to have Cancer screening so that it can be detected early and can be cured. As a cricketer, we can send out a strong message. I appeal to people, whether they are fit or not, after every six months, they must come once for a health check-up.”
Rajasthan Royals will become the third team to don a new playing attire for a day during an IPL game after Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Delhi Daredevils used a lavender coloured jersey on May 1 to mark Cancer Survivor Day, while Royal Challengers Bangalore wear green jerseys for a day as a sign for the team’s commitment to the ‘Go Green’ initiative.

Rahane’s side stayed alive in the race for the play-offs with a 15-run win over Kings XI Punjab but they face a tough match against Chennai Super Kings, who are in second position at the moment.
