All looks to be finally well at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) with president Rajat Sharma promising director Sanjay Bharadwaj that the DDCA will comply with the August 9 judgement of the Supreme Court and prepare the new constitution accordingly.
The Supreme Court has asked the BCCI and the state associations to amend their constitutions as per its August 9 judgement and submit a compliance report with the Committee of Administrators.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Bharadwaj said that he was happy that the president has promised to get the new constitution in place within the next 15 days and also ensured that there will be clarity in decision-making in the future to avoid any miscommunication.
“I am glad that the president has taken note of the problems and came and met me yesterday night. He has promised me that the new constitution will be drafted as per the SC judgement and it will be done in the next 10-15 days. Future appointments will be based on the proposals of the Lodha panel that have been approved by the SC. The president also asked me to get in touch with him directly in the future so that there is no miscommunication,” he said.
The cricket committee, an area of major disagreement between the president and the directors, will also be reworked according to the rules and regulations of the new constitution with only those candidates eligible being appointed. “The cricket committee will also be reworked keeping the Lodha proposals in mind. We do not wish to go against the constitution and the president has assured me the same,” he said.

Asked about the position of suspended secretary Vinod Tihara, Bharadwaj said that the duo will discuss the matter either on Sunday night or Monday. “It is going to be sorted either tonight or tomorrow. We have had a word on the matter and the president has asked me to meet him. Since today is a day of celebration, Raksha Bandhan, we might end up meeting tomorrow. But, the matter is on the top of the agenda.”
