A Pakistani Senator today asked the country's Chief Justice and Supreme Court to take suo motto notice of the spot-fixing scandal and also the government's refusal to change the PCB set-up.

Senator Tahir Mashadi, also a member of Senate Standing Committee on Sports, told media that lawmakers were extremely disappointed that President Asif Ali Zardari, the chief patron of the Pakistan Cricket Board, had not acted on the advise of the Senate and National Assembly committees.

“We feel that Ijaz Butt is totally unfit to run the cricket board and this betting scandal is a result of PCB's incompetence. But the chief patron has yet to listen to us,” Mashadi said.
