World Cup Australia Squad

Despite injury concerns, Australia have included Captain Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc in their squad for the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India, set to kick off on October 5. Cummins is dealing with a fractured hand, Smith has a wrist tendon injury, Maxwell is nursing an ankle issue, and Starc is grappling with a groin injury.

Australia head into the tournament with the confidence of a recent 3-0 triumph in the preceding Twenty20 series.
Notably, eight of the 15 players in the squad have previous World Cup experience, including Cummins, Smith, Maxwell, Starc, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, and Adam Zampa, all of whom featured in the 2019 edition.

Australia boasts an impressive track record in the 50-overs World Cup, having secured the title a record five times. England, the defending champions who clinched the title in a memorable final against New Zealand in 2019, will square off against New Zealand to open this year's tournament on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The tournament's grand finale is scheduled to take place on November 19 at the same venue.
