The District Sessions judge Anant Kumar fixed August 13 for execution of Sandeep, son of a Delhi Police Sub Inspector and convicted for murdering his lover Jyoti Arora, a resident of Mayur Vihar in East Delhi.

Sandeep and his accomplice Shashi Bhushan, a Delhi Police constable, were sentenced to death by the Sessions court on June 2, 2007.

Though, the High Court converted the death sentence against Bhushan into life imprisonment, it upheld the lower court's order of capital punishment against Sandeep.

Sandeep is currently languishing in Agra Central Jail.

According to prosecution, Sandeep had brought Jyoti to the district and killed her on November 17, 2004 with the help of Shashi Bhushan when she pressurised him to marry after becoming pregnant.
