In a paradigm shift, the undergraduate admission process has gone fully online, which began on June 1. From filling the application form to uploading documents, paying registration fee and also selecting the college everything can be done with the click of a button.

Here’s what you need to know before you start the journey to a coveted seat in the college of your dreams...

What’s new this time

The admission process is fully online. Students once admitted must pay fee online via central portal and not in colleges. 5% seats reserved for Kashmiri migrants, up from 3%. Cutoff for Kashmiri migrant quota will be declared. Students applying as children of war widows will be admitted through counselling.

How does the online process work?

Aspirants need to log into the DU portal (http://www.du.ac.in/ du/), register and fill the application form. Students can select the courses in the form but not colleges. Only after the payment will the application be accepted. Apart from filling the form students will also have to upload copy of self attested class 10, 12 mark sheets and reserved category certificate. The size of the file should not be more than 200 KB. Similarly, the photograph and signature should also not be more than 50Kb each.

When will the student have to visit the college?

Students will only have go to the college only to verify the documents.

What has changed this year?

There will only be five cutoff lists this time. If seats in colleges remain vacant, students will have to register again through the DU portal, select the college and course. Admission under sports/extracurricular activities quota will take place through the centralised admission form.
