JEE main result: SC quashes petition seeking accommodation to appear for JEE advanced 2021
The Supreme Court has refused to consider the petition. Instead the petitioners have been asked to move representation before the authority concerned with their plea.
The authority at the Central government level shall consider deciding the same before the closing date of registration for JEE Advanced exam, the Court has said.

Lakhs of students have been waiting for the JEE main result since last week. The estimated calculations on JEE main result began when JEE advanced registration date was announced.

The JEE advanced 2021 registration will begin today in the evening, September 15, 2021, as per an official update available on the website. The last date to register online is till September 20, 2021. The IIT entrance exam, JEE advanced 2021, is scheduled to be held on October 3.

A total of 44 candidates have scored 100 percentile in the 4 editions of the JEE (Main), results for which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), late on Tuesday night. According to NTA , 18 candidates have secured first rank in session 4 of the exam. They include 4 from Andhra Pradesh, 2 from Telangana and 2 from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan each.

In JEE main 2021 session 4, over 7.32 lakh candidates had registered. This was the highest participation among all sessions of the engineering entrance exam.
For the third session exam, which was held in July, a total of 7.09 lakh applications were registered.

Supernumerary seats for female candidates in IITs
Supernumerary seats have been created for female candidates for improving the gender balance in the undergraduate programs in IITs. These supernumerary seats will be offered to only those female candidates who are declared qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2021, and, strictly based on the performance in JEE (Advanced) 2021. The number of supernumerary seats in various programs will be decided by individual IITs ensuring that every institute has at least 20% female enrolment in undergraduate programs. The reservation policy as per Government of India norms as existing at present will be applicable to these supernumerary seats as well. The detailed procedure for implementation of the above shall be set out in the Business Rules of JoSAA 2021 (will be made available on https://josaa.nic.in).

Know about NTA score
NTA scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session.
The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.

JEE Advanced 2021: JAB allows 2020 candidates to appear 
Joint Admission Board (JAB) allows candidates, who missed JEE (Advanced) 2020 due to being COVID-19 positive, to reappear in 2021. The decision was taken in October 2020. 
Further, it was decided that these candidates would be considered in addition to and not as part of the total number of candidates who would qualify from JEE (Main) 2021 for appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2021.
